Modernizing Microfinance in Nepal Laying a Foundation for Future Prosperity with Nutanix HCI

Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (LxLB), the microfinance subsidiary of Laxmi Bank serving 73 branches across 52 districts in Nepal, aimed to digitize services to better reach underserved communities but was held back by a fragmented, capacity‑constrained IT environment—multiple servers, unreliable email, poor manageability and limited scalability. These infrastructure limitations threatened service reliability and slowed branch expansion.

Working with local partner Digital Network Solution, LxLB consolidated its environment onto Nutanix HCI, lowering total cost of ownership and simplifying management. The move delivered reliable in‑house email, secure backups via Nutanix Protection Domain, improved application performance, faster rollouts and upgrades, and scalable infrastructure to support future modernization and rapid branch openings.
