A Nutanix Case Study
Mauritius Union Group (MUA), a leading African financial services firm, faced rapid IT expansion after years of mergers and acquisitions and was running a heavily virtualized, siloed infrastructure made up of multiple storage arrays, networks and vendor servers. The legacy, tiered environment and a 1 Gb core network were causing performance bottlenecks and high management complexity, so MUA sought a hyperconverged solution to consolidate compute, storage and networking and simplify operations.
MUA deployed Nutanix Acropolis with the AHV hypervisor on Cisco UCS and centralized management with Nutanix Prism. The team migrated 50+ VMs in a week with zero downtime, cut Citrix XenDesktop logon times by 14 seconds per session by leveraging NFS over a 10 Gb network, simplified provisioning and management, reduced CapEx and support overhead, and gained file services, quotas and metro replication — delivering a web-scale, easier-to-manage infrastructure.
