Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore drives greater sustainability with Nutanix

The Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), which oversees one of the world’s busiest transshipment and bunkering hubs, set out to digitally transform its Just‑in‑Time (JIT) Planning and Coordination platform to shorten ship port stays, cut vessel carbon emissions, and simplify a legacy three‑tier infrastructure for greater energy efficiency and resilience. MPA needed a modern, flexible on‑premises solution that would enable mobile access to critical vessel‑clearance data, improve uptime, and align with its Green Initiative.

MPA deployed Nutanix hyper‑converged infrastructure—including AOS storage, AHV, Nutanix Disaster Recovery, Files Storage and Cloud Manager—to run the redeveloped JIT application on a private cloud. The result: consolidated hardware and lower environmental impact, simplified management so a single admin can scale and maintain the service, faster recovery times to minimise disruption, and secure mobile access that improves operational efficiency.
