Case Study: Louisiana Department of Insurance achieves faster performance, simpler management and a 4x smaller datacenter footprint with Nutanix

A Nutanix Case Study

Louisiana Department of Insurance Relies on Nutanix

The Louisiana Department of Insurance, a state agency that regulates more than 230,000 entities, was hampered by a complex three-tier IT environment that made server, storage, and network management slow, error-prone, and costly. The team needed higher performance for virtual servers and desktops, simpler administration, and reduced datacenter footprint and operating costs.

LDI deployed eight Nutanix NX-6000 nodes across two datacenters and consolidated VDI, domain controllers, SQL, Exchange and other virtual servers onto the Nutanix platform managed by Prism. The change cut deployment time from weeks to under an hour, doubled overall speed (with some workloads 4x faster and queries dropping from 30s to 8s), eliminated about 10 staff-hours/week of management, reduced rack space from four racks to one, and demonstrated fast, resilient recovery in live testing.
