London Capital Group (LCG), a fast-growing UK online financial services firm serving over 70,000 clients, needed to rapidly replace end-of-life IT infrastructure as part of a 2014 rebranding and expansion program. The small IT team initially planned a traditional server-plus-SAN approach but, concerned about complexity and deployment time, evaluated alternatives and opted to change course late in the project.

LCG implemented the Nutanix Xtreme Computing Platform with VMware ESXi across both data centres, enabling a swift migration of production and UAT systems. The converged solution cut rack footprint by about 60% (consolidating eight racks into three), removed the need for specialist storage hires, accelerated deployment timelines, and significantly reduced deal-processing time while providing easier scalability and improved agility.
