Lancashire County Council accelerates performance and improves ROI by swapping out VMware for Nutanix

Lancashire County Council, a UK public-sector authority with over 10,000 employees, supports 300–400 core applications that power services across the county. Facing aging VMware infrastructure and the need for a more scalable, responsive platform to support residents and drive efficiencies, the council set out to modernize its data center and improve performance and ROI.

The council migrated from VMware to Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure, deploying an eight-node production cluster, an eight-node failover cluster and a four-node SQL Server cluster, and adopting Prism, Nutanix Move and Flow for management and security. The new platform consolidated infrastructure, accelerated application performance, simplified operations and improved ROI while delivering greater availability and a foundation for future digital transformation.
