A Nutanix Case Study
Kyushu Sangyo University, pursuing a 10‑year DX-driven mid‑term plan, faced an aging, complex on‑premises IT estate—18 blade nodes, SAN storage and 250+ hosted servers—while needing to improve remote learning, LMS usability and administrative systems with a small IT team. Recurring power issues and growing management overhead made it urgent to strengthen infrastructure for high‑pressure periods and broader digital initiatives.
Working with SCSK, the university migrated to a Nutanix private cloud (NCI/AOS with Prism on HPE ProLiant DX), moving servers to a robust datacenter and using Nutanix Sizer to right‑size resources. The result: fewer racks and lower power/TCO, dramatically reduced management hours, stable high‑performance LMS handling peak loads, and flexible scalability that lets the university consolidate services and plan expansion to support up to 10,000 simultaneous users.
