A Nutanix Case Study
Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), a global architecture firm with six international offices, struggled to deliver high‑performance CAD and 3D design applications to remote users. An on‑premises VDI pilot suffered poor graphics performance, jitter, heavy maintenance and hardware costs, and could only support about 12 concurrent remote sessions—leaving the firm vulnerable during outages and business travel.
KPF moved its VDI to the cloud with Nutanix Xi Frame, integrating Panzura storage, Azure AD SSO and existing license servers. The cloud‑based, ephemeral desktops delivered noticeably smoother graphics, simplified image and app management, removed the need for new data‑center hardware, and scaled from a 12‑session limit to potentially 1,000+ instances—improving remote access, disaster recovery and ease of expansion to other offices.
