A Nutanix Case Study
Kansai Electric Power Group, a major energy and infrastructure provider, needed to accelerate decision-making and enable a company-wide digital workstyle by addressing hierarchical processes, long travel and meeting times, and the need for large-scale remote access. The IT Strategy Office set out to build a high-performance virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) capable of supporting up to 34,000 users to improve productivity and communication across the organization.
KEPCO selected the Nutanix Cloud Platform (AOS/AHV) with Nutanix Unified Storage, NVIDIA vGPU and supporting apps (Citrix, Microsoft 365, Teams, Box) deployed in scalable 20-unit cluster pods. The result was a stable, easily managed VDI that scales across hundreds of nodes, delivers a smooth user experience, cuts VM replication from 10–20 minutes to seconds, reduces operational effort with automated updates, and materially improved remote collaboration and productivity.
