Insel Gruppe AG completes full technology change with Nutanix

Insel Gruppe AG, the largest healthcare provider in the canton of Bern with over 12,000 employees and some 860,000 patients served, faced an aging hospital information system and chose Epic’s KISS as a modern, integrated clinical platform. To guarantee availability for Epic across roughly 600 servers, the organization needed a virtualized, private-cloud infrastructure that could meet strict performance, integration and operational requirements.

In collaboration with Nutanix (and partner Amanox), Insel Gruppe deployed Epic on Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure, replacing traditional SAN and 3‑tier systems with a hyperconverged private cloud. The rollout delivered centralized patient data, greater automation and efficiency, scalable backup/storage and disaster recovery, and stronger security monitoring (including a SOC and microsegmentation), positioning the hospital group to pursue AI, big‑data and personalized‑medicine initiatives.
