A Nutanix Case Study
Imperial PFS, a leading premium financing provider serving 500+ employees across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, needed a disaster-recovery site for its VMware Horizon View virtual desktops. Its production VDI ran on Dell R810 servers with PCIe flash and a DataCore SAN that delivered strong performance but lacked high availability, leaving the company vulnerable to outages; the DR platform had to match production performance, be easy and fast to deploy, and preserve a consistent user experience.
After testing multiple options, IPFS selected the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform — a converged, SAN‑free solution that delivered the same performance in a compact 2U appliance versus the original 15U footprint. Nutanix reduced acquisition and operating costs, simplified management and scaling, provided proactive remote support, and enabled rapid deployment (IPFS cloned 500 desktops in a single afternoon), giving the company a reliable, high‑performance VDI disaster recovery site.
