IHG Becomes One of the First Companies to Move Its MissionCritical Elasticsearch Deployment to Hyperconverged Infrastructure

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s second-largest hotel company with over 5,400 properties in 100+ countries, was struggling to scale its Elasticsearch analytics platform that ingestes more than 3 TB of logs and operational data daily. Their legacy infrastructure created lengthy maintenance windows—firmware upgrades could take over a week—hindering real-time visibility into application performance and affecting SLAs for critical customer-facing services like the website, mobile site, and rewards program.

IHG migrated its Elasticsearch deployment to Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (Acropolis with AHV) and now manages the environment with Prism Central. The move delivered faster, easier scaling and cut firmware upgrade times from more than a week to just a few hours, enabled real-time analytics and improved uptime, reduced TCO and staffing needs for infrastructure specialists, and allowed IHG to begin moving additional critical workloads onto Nutanix.
