A Nutanix Case Study
HCL, a FTSE 100 financial services organization with operations in 39 countries and support needs across 135 countries, was struggling with legacy datacenter infrastructure that lacked high availability and load balancing. Chronic storage bottlenecks, fragmented management, slow scalability, and rigid provisioning were affecting mission-critical VDI and end-user applications. To address these issues, HCL worked with Nutanix and HCL’s global systems integration capabilities to modernize its VDI environment.
Nutanix Enterprise Cloud, deployed on Cisco UCS servers with Citrix XenDesktop, delivered a centralized, easier-to-manage platform for 1,350 active users plus disaster recovery capacity. The result was faster application responsiveness, quicker VDI rollout, and linear scaling without overprovisioning; HCL estimates Nutanix reduced hardware costs by 20% and total cost of ownership by 40%, and the company plans to expand to more than 2,800 VDI users.
