Grande Prairie Regional College Streamlines Service Delivery with Nutanix

Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC), a community post‑secondary institution serving about 2,500 students and 700 faculty and staff in northwestern Alberta, struggled with a growing, complex multi‑vendor IT environment. Its small IT team had to manage VMware, SAN/iSCSI, Microsoft Exchange, SQL and file servers, making it difficult to scale, respond quickly to curriculum changes, or maintain systems without significant manual effort.

GPRC consolidated its infrastructure onto the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (using Nutanix AHV and Prism), migrating 110 servers and multiple workloads to a single hyperconverged platform. The move simplified management, sped up provisioning and testing, added disaster‑recovery capacity, reduced data‑center footprint and operational costs, and let the existing team support new services without hiring additional staff.
