A Nutanix Case Study
GA Telesis, a global leader in commercial aerospace, faced growing IT complexity as rapid acquisitions brought disparate legacy systems and an aging EMC storage environment that was reaching end of life. Managing LUNs and storage had become resource‑intensive, diverting IT effort from core aviation services, while the company sought to reduce data center footprint and lower escalating Oracle licensing and maintenance costs.
GA Telesis deployed a Nutanix Acropolis NX‑6000 cluster managed with Prism, cutting infrastructure deployment from about a week to under two hours and VM provisioning from 2–3 hours to about five minutes. The move simplified management and troubleshooting, reduced the main datacenter footprint from 1.5 racks to 8–10U (with ~3:2 effective capacity via compression/dedupe), and slashed Oracle licensing to roughly 25% of prior costs, enabling faster operations and planned rollouts to additional sites.
