Forest County Potawatomi Tribe Chooses Nutanix Enterprise Cloud

The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe, the largest employer in Forest County, Wisconsin with 600+ staff, needed a modern, easy-to-manage data center and VDI platform to support municipal-style services (GIS, SCADA, SharePoint, SQL, a health clinic, and IT management tools). Their existing multi-vendor, three‑tier infrastructure caused storage complexity, poor performance, lengthy upgrade windows, and required a full‑time storage administrator.

The tribe deployed Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (Acropolis and Prism) with VMware vSphere/Horizon after a successful PoC and now runs two clusters for production and DR. The move eliminated dedicated storage administration, cut datacenter footprint from one rack to one‑third, enabled one‑click nondisruptive upgrades, improved application and VDI performance (including an Exchange migration), lowered CapEx/OpEx, and freed IT to focus on strategic projects and expansion.
