Farm Credit Financial Partners (FPI), a 160-person technology services provider supporting seven Farm Credit Banks, needed a standalone, high‑IOPS server and storage platform to host VMware Horizon View for a banking client without impacting existing production systems or requiring Fibre Channel SAN expertise. The solution had to be compact, easy to manage, and cost‑effective compared with traditional EMC/Cisco options.

A reseller demoed the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, which FPI deployed in under a day; the self‑contained appliance removed the need for SANs and heavy admin overhead. Results included a 92% reduction in rack space (25U to 2U), a 100–200% performance increase versus the earlier pilot, significantly lower capital cost (roughly one‑fifth the EMC/Cisco alternative), faster setup and simplified management, and capacity to grow beyond the current 50 virtual desktops.
