Excelitas Selects the Nutanix Xtreme Computing Platform for Mission-Critical Applications

Excelitas Technologies, a global photonics and technology leader serving markets from biomedical to aerospace, faced rapid growth that forced costly over‑provisioning and stretched IT resources. A patchwork of heterogeneous, three‑tier storage and server systems added complexity and slowed delivery of new environments, while mission‑critical SAP and SQL Server applications required a more scalable, high‑performance, and highly available platform.

Excelitas deployed Nutanix Xtreme Computing Platform (NX‑1000/3000/6000/8000) across nine sites to standardize on a hyperconverged infrastructure with Prism management. The move enabled scale‑on‑demand, consolidated critical workloads (SAP, SQL, Exchange, AD, etc.), and improved DR. Results included elimination of upfront over‑provisioning, a 15x reduction in datacenter footprint, lower power/cooling and management overhead, and better visibility and support for global IT operations.
