Drakes Supermarkets, Australia’s largest independent grocer with 63 stores and 5,500 staff, faced end-of-life, fragmented infrastructure as it commissioned a $125M, 50,000 m² automated distribution centre. With a small 11-person IT team, Drakes needed a performant, highly available platform to support critical systems (POS, ERP, price-control) and Dematic robotic warehouse automation while simplifying management and scaling for future growth.
