Direct One, a 50‑employee marketing automation and customer‑communications firm in São Paulo, Brazil, needed to process millions of personalized documents and analyze terabytes of data within hours for large financial clients. Its four‑server private cloud (about 50 VMs) could not scale to the 1,000+ VMs required for peak jobs, and regulatory concerns limited use of public cloud for sensitive customer data.

Direct One deployed a Microsoft‑validated Nutanix hyper‑converged platform (four NX‑3060 nodes) running Windows Server, System Center and Windows Azure Pack, enabling self‑service VM provisioning and rapid scale to more than 1,200 VMs. The change consolidated 50 servers into four, cut deployment to ~2 days, let two IT staff manage 10× more VMs, sped document processing from 500,000 to 50,000,000 documents per minute (100×), and unlocked capacity to double the business without adding headcount.
