A Nutanix Case Study
Currie European Transport, a Scotland-based haulage firm founded in 1977 with depots across the UK, France and Holland, had outgrown its six-year-old enterprise server/SAN infrastructure. Rising network demands from growth and real‑time tracking, slow SQL reports and file access, low RAM and near‑capacity storage created performance, resilience and scalability challenges—and the IT team wanted an energy‑efficient, virtualised solution that could support future growth and VDI possibilities.
Working with reseller Misco, Currie deployed Nutanix’s hyperconverged platform in one week, consolidating compute, storage and virtualization into a scalable cluster. The rollout now supports 130 users across five branches with 20 VMs (including two SQL servers), delivers 100% uptime for critical apps, cut intensive reports from hours to about 30 minutes, reduced backups to one hour with VEEAM, sped up public‑facing systems and has run 24/7 without reboot—giving the company the capacity and confidence to meet its needs for years.
