A Nutanix Case Study
Coeur d’Alene Casino and Resort, a large tribal gaming and hospitality property in Worley, Idaho, was struggling with aging, bare‑metal infrastructure that supported 650 surveillance cameras and dozens of other services. Legacy RAID‑based storage and ten racks of servers frequently failed, causing loss of recorded video and creating a heavy management burden, while the casino also had to meet strict National Indian Gaming Commission requirements for 24x7 video availability and rapid, verifiable exports for regulators and law enforcement.
The casino deployed Mirasys video management software on a Nutanix Enterprise Cloud platform with built‑in AHV virtualization, consolidating to a 12‑node cluster and shrinking the datacenter from ten racks to one. The move eliminated frequent downtime, enabled on‑demand storage for fast exports, simplified compliance, and reduced operational overhead—allowing the IT team to go from four admins to one for routine management and reallocating staff to strategic projects—while improving overall site security and enabling a hybrid cloud strategy.
