Clara Online Expands File Sharing Managed Service to Next-Generation IaaS Platform

Clara Online, a Japanese cloud services provider, needed to modernize and simplify its sprawling datacenter operations to support growth in its Clara Cloud IaaS offerings. Rapidly rising customer demand, thousands of physical devices, frequent hardware failures and staff trips to datacenters were driving high operational costs and limiting the company’s ability to expand managed services.

Clara Online migrated to a Nutanix-based hyperconverged platform (AOS/AHV) and Nutanix Unified Storage for files, enabling Nutanix-cluster and VM-based delivery, hybrid multi‑cloud connectivity, and new secure file‑sharing services. The move cut roughly 1,500 hardware units (937 by end of 2018; a 93.3% reduction by 2018), boosted infrastructure availability, reduced operational man‑hours and failure points, and let Clara scale managed IaaS services competitively while building in‑house Nutanix expertise.
