City of Allen Enhances Public Safety and Delivers Exceptional Citizen Service with Nutanix

The City of Allen, a public sector organization in Texas, needed to modernize aging emergency response systems and improve its computer-aided dispatch, mobile public safety, and records management environment. Using Nutanix and CentralSquare software, the city sought a more flexible, scalable setup that its small IT team could manage while also adding test and disaster recovery capabilities.

Nutanix implemented an enterprise cloud and hyperconverged infrastructure with Acropolis AHV, enabling the city to scale quickly, improve resiliency, and simplify management through Nutanix Prism. As a result, new resources can now be provisioned in about a day instead of days or weeks, disaster recovery was expanded to a separate facility, and the city can update about 90 machines in a week while avoiding additional virtualization licensing costs.
