China hospital partners with Nutanix and Lenovo to comply with national standards for storage and exchange of medical data

Jining No. 1 People’s Hospital is a 4,200‑bed public hospital in Shandong Province, China, treating more than 3.3 million emergency and outpatients annually. Faced with national requirements for secure storage and exchange of electronic medical data, the hospital needed to replace its legacy virtualized environment to meet regulatory standards and support critical clinical systems.

The hospital deployed a Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure on Lenovo ThinkAgile HX5520 appliances (with Acropolis, VMware vSphere and Lenovo services) to run its HIS, PACS, SPD medical equipment management system and other key applications. The new platform delivered the performance, stability and compliance the hospital required, enabling one of the province’s first SPD implementations and supporting improved clinical care.
