CAREL is a multinational HVAC/R manufacturer headquartered in Italy with more than 1,350 employees and operations across Europe, the Americas and Asia. Rapid international growth—including a new manufacturing plant in Croatia—exposed limitations in its legacy, heterogeneous datacenter approach, creating high management costs and risking business continuity. CAREL adopted a “Cloud First” strategy and sought a distributed, remotely manageable solution to standardize infrastructure and support future expansion.

After evaluating vendors, CAREL deployed Nutanix hyperconverged clusters (primary and DR) at headquarters and Nutanix RoBO nodes at remote sites, starting with small three-node installs for safe scaling. The rollout doubled computing power and storage, improved backup and DR performance (remote backups increased up to 300%), lowered TCO and simplified management, and has since been extended to other subsidiaries.
