California State University, Dominguez Hills Supports Off-Campus Learning and Saves

California State University, Dominguez Hills faced the challenge of supporting off-campus learning while reducing IT complexity and costs across a fragmented mix of VMware, storage, and hardware systems. With help from Nutanix and IMPEX Technologies, the university used Nutanix HCI, Nutanix Files, AHV, and Nutanix Frame to modernize its environment.

Nutanix consolidated multiple racks into a single hyperconverged platform, simplified management through Prism, and enabled fast deployment of virtual workspaces for remote learning. The results included lower VMware and Microsoft licensing costs, reduced power and cooling expenses, easier administration, and the ability to create VDI environments for students in less than an hour.
