Butler Technical School Learns the Value of Nutanix Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure

Butler Tech, a joint vocational school in southwestern Ohio, needed a simpler way to manage its growing IT environment across five campuses and many classrooms. With a small IT team supporting more than 18,500 students, over 7,000 endpoints, and 200 virtual servers, the school wanted to replace a complex 3-tier infrastructure that was time-consuming to maintain. Butler Tech chose Nutanix hybrid cloud infrastructure to help streamline operations and support its expanding technology programs.

Nutanix implemented its HCI platform, Prism Central, AHV, and Flow, and Butler Tech later began piloting Frame for desktop-as-a-service. The result was centralized management, one-click upgrades, non-disruptive maintenance, stronger security, and zero downtime after moving to Nutanix. Butler Tech also reduced datacenter footprint, power use, and VMware licensing costs, while gaining the flexibility to grow without adding staff.
