A Nutanix Case Study
BSN INET, a Japanese system integrator serving local governments and other sectors, needed to replace an aging cloud platform for a Hokkaido local government while simplifying operations, reducing costs, and enabling remote disaster recovery. The company also wanted a more flexible environment than its existing 3-tier setup and an easier path to migrate to a new enterprise cloud platform. Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS, NX series systems, AHV, Prism, and Nutanix Xtract for VMs were selected to meet these needs.
Nutanix implemented a simplified hyperconverged platform across BSN INET’s Sapporo and Niigata sites, with daily replication and fast migration from the old environment. The results included cutting IT costs by about one-fourth versus the previous 3-tier configuration, reducing restore steps by more than half, compressing about 350 GB of daily replication data to complete backups in 30 minutes, and finishing the full installation and migration in just three weeks.
