Bay Area School District Supports Educators with Faster, More Dependable Operations

Mountain View Los Altos High School District (MVLA), serving more than 4,500 students and 700 staff in Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, was running an aging VMware environment that was maxed out on storage and memory. The small IT team needed a modern, easier-to-manage platform to restore performance, ensure availability of critical services (domain controllers and key servers), and reduce rising costs.

Working with Portola Systems, MVLA migrated Linux and virtual workloads to the Nutanix Cloud Platform using Nutanix Move and AHV. The hyperconverged solution improved performance and resilience, enabled advanced disaster recovery, simplified management and training for in‑house staff, and lowered licensing and operational expenses compared with the prior VMware setup.
