Auto Europe Relies on Nutanix During Covid-19 Pandemic

Auto Europe Group, a global leader in international car rental brokerage serving travel agents and consumers across 180 countries, faced scalability, performance, and management challenges with its legacy SAN and “big iron” infrastructure as it moved to VDI. The company needed a way to support distributed call centers, improve disaster recovery, and rapidly transition to a fully remote workforce when the COVID‑19 pandemic hit.

Auto Europe deployed the Nutanix Cloud Platform (AOS and AHV) with Citrix VDI, migrated data from NetApp to Nutanix Files, and moved off VMware ESX to eliminate hypervisor licensing. The new environment now supports 660 VDI users with 42 TB of storage, simplified management and upgrades, faster cluster scaling, improved DR via snap‑mirroring, and better application performance—enabling a seamless remote transition, stronger customer experience, and time to pursue new projects like an active‑active datacenter.
