A Nutanix Case Study
ASL Airlines France, heir to Aéropostale and based at Paris‑Charles de Gaulle, operates passenger and cargo services for major partners including La Poste, TNT, DHL, FedEx and UPS. Facing rising fuel costs and competitive pressure, the airline sought to cut IT costs and boost agility by building on its private cloud to improve scalability, business continuity and virtual desktop performance; IT partner Diademys was tasked with finding a solution that integrated smoothly with VMware View and ThinApp.
ASL deployed the Nutanix Xtreme Computing Platform hyperconverged VDI across two sites, consolidating compute and storage into small appliances with a pay‑as‑you‑grow model. The rollout simplified administration and sped deployments to minutes, cut datacenter footprint up to 5x, improved connection performance (startup times fell from 2–3 minutes to about 20 seconds and overall connection speed improved ~20%), and delivered greater resilience and easier scalability.
