Apollo Hospitals takes patient care to the next level with Nutanix

Apollo Pharmacy, part of Apollo Hospitals, faced growing complexity in its hospital IT environment as it digitized key systems like HIS, EMR, and PACS across 72 hospitals. The legacy multi-layer infrastructure was difficult to scale and slow to troubleshoot, especially during peak periods when clinicians needed fast access to patient data. Nutanix Cloud Platform was selected to simplify the environment and support Apollo’s move toward hybrid and multicloud IT.

Nutanix implemented a platform based on Nutanix Cloud Platform, including Nutanix AOS, AHV, and Prism, to run Apollo’s HIS, EMR, and PACS workloads. The results included registration times dropping from 8–15 minutes to around 30 seconds, faster access to electronic records and imaging, and improved patient flows. Apollo also consolidated hardware by more than 66%, freeing up hospital space for patient care and reducing downtime and IT firefighting.
