A Nutanix Case Study
Anthelio Healthcare, a leading provider of IT and business services to hospitals, encountered a project that outgrew its traditional SAN-based architecture: a large-scale VDI deployment across multiple hospitals requiring very high IOPS and reliable handling of morning boot storms. The team struggled to accurately size servers and storage without ballooning costs, manpower needs, and risking degraded SAN performance.
Anthelio deployed Nutanix Complete Blocks — a SAN-free, converged compute-and-storage solution running VMware and Nutanix software — using four Blocks (four nodes each) to deliver hundreds of VDI sessions. The deployment eliminated the separate storage layer, simplified operations, enabled Block provisioning in about 30 minutes, improved IOPS and boot-storm resilience, and delivered estimated CAPEX savings of 40–60% plus ongoing OPEX reductions, giving Anthelio faster rollouts and a competitive edge.
