Alabama A&M University Continues to Serve Campus Community During COVID-19 Outbreak with Nutanix

Alabama A&M University (AAMU), a historic HBCU, needed a scalable, resilient IT environment that could support its campus and other regional institutions while keeping operations running during the COVID-19 outbreak. The university faced the dual challenges of providing secure remote access to critical applications for staff and ensuring business continuity and data protection as campuses shifted to remote work.

AAMU deployed Nutanix Enterprise Cloud with Nutanix Frame (DaaS), integrated with QuickLaunch SSO and AppsAnywhere, and used Xi Leap for disaster recovery. The solution was rolled out in days to 120 high‑priority staff, kept users productive with secure remote desktops, consolidated data centers, enabled true failover and data protection, and provided the scalability and flexibility to support other HBCUs and future multi-tenant services.
