A Nutanix Case Study
Adventist Risk Management (ARM) is the captive insurance provider for the Seventh‑day Adventist Church, delivering property, medical, cyber and risk‑management services worldwide. ARM was hampered by a complex, traditional infrastructure—IBM blade servers, Citrix XenServer, Cisco networking and Dell EqualLogic storage—that made upgrades costly and disruptive, required frequent evening and weekend maintenance, and limited timely patching and disaster‑recovery capabilities.
ARM replaced its legacy stack with Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (Acropolis/AHV), deployed across headquarters, satellite offices and a DR site, and implemented HYCU backup plus core applications (Ventiv, MS Dynamics). The move simplified operations under a single vendor, enabled modular, non‑disruptive upgrades and routine daytime patching, eliminated prior hypervisor licensing fees, improved DR via Nutanix Protection Domains, sped backup rollouts, eliminated virtualization outages, and freed IT staff to manage security in‑house and focus on strategic projects.
