National Trading Standards Fights Online Scams Efficiently with Streamlined Forensic and Investigative Workflows

National Trading Standards’ eCrime Team, which investigates online consumer and business fraud across the UK, faced growing volumes of digital evidence (including multi‑terabyte RAID arrays) and slow, inefficient workflows that forced case officers to wait for forensic analysts to image and search exhibits. To overcome long delays and limited search access, National Trading Standards turned to Nuix, deploying a Nuix Lab and Nuix Investigate® to give distributed investigators direct, browser‑based visibility into seized devices.

Nuix implemented high‑speed processing servers and a workflow that ingests verified forensic images into Nuix case files, with case officers accessing and searching multiple exhibits at once via Nuix Investigate. The change eliminated courier delays and analyst bottlenecks, letting investigators triage evidence earlier and enabling dramatically better yields — investigators now find around 17,000 relevant files per case versus roughly 50 previously — while freeing forensic analysts to focus on reporting.
