UBank, a South African retail bank exposed heavily to the mining sector, faced falling lending volumes, rising impairments and the need to diversify its retail proposition while operating as a lean organisation. Seeking a best-of-breed lending solution to replace two disparate lending systems and avoid an in‑house maintenance burden, UBank selected Nucleus Software’s FinnOne after an RFP and fit-gap evaluation.

Nucleus Software performed the business-requirements mapping, carried out most development work and supported integration and testing, enabling a big‑bang go‑live of FinnOne in January 2014. The deployment consolidated two legacy systems into a single lending platform integrated with Oracle Flexcube, went live “without major hiccups,” streamlined IT support, improved product agility and simplified future rollouts (mortgages, asset and vehicle finance), with Nucleus Software retaining onsite support through the transition.
