Southern New Hampshire University engages 160,000+ remote learners with VR learning from Nucco

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), a large institution with a significant population of remote learners, partnered with Nucco to explore the effectiveness and engagement of VR for education. Their challenge was to research and develop sophisticated new digital platforms to enhance teaching and learning for their students.

Nucco designed and built Synapse VR, an immersive active learning experience for a Biopsychology course. The solution was developed to increase student motivation and leverage the unique affordances of VR technology. According to the university's Director of Learning Science, the students overwhelmingly loved the experiences. The professor involved stated that Synapse VR was a categorical success, as it captivated and educated students without being gimmicky.
