Produban’s hybrid cloud scales to support global business

Produban, Grupo Santander’s technology arm, needed a scalable, secure hybrid cloud and networking fabric to deliver worldwide digital banking services across its global footprint of 10 datacenters. Faced with strict security and interoperability requirements—including BGP-based federation, distributed Layer‑3 routing capable of scaling to hundreds of networks, and integration with Red Hat OpenShift and Ceph—Produban selected Nuage Networks and its Virtualized Services Platform (VSP) to meet these demands.

Nuage Networks deployed VSP as a software overlay across Produban’s redundant datacenters in five global regions to federate networks via a robust BGP routing stack, interoperate with Red Hat OpenStack and CloudForms, and enable workload migration between cloud clusters. The solution delivered global reachability and cloud-based support for Produban’s services, met the scale requirement for hundreds of networks, and unlocked strategic initiatives (IT‑as‑a‑Service, Big Data, enterprise open source, and enhanced cybersecurity) while supporting Produban’s multi‑region hybrid cloud operations.
