Largest Wireline Telecommunications Company needed to redefine public cloud for China but its Apache CloudStack–based environment could not meet the scale, multi-hypervisor and bare-metal needs, nor provide self-service and tenant isolation required for SMB and enterprise customers. The company selected Nuage Networks and its Virtualized Services Platform (VSP) — with the 7850 Virtual Services Gateway (VSG) and VRS module — to provide automation, scalability, and network isolation across VMware and Xen environments.

Nuage Networks extended CloudStack for modularity and scalability, integrated VSP via REST APIs, deployed VSGs and policy-driven QoS/security (and tied into Nokia 7750 SRs), and delivered a unified, programmable network fabric. The result: self-service VM provisioning in about 2 minutes, a design to expand server capacity 2,000-fold in the first 12 months, higher VMs-per-server efficiency, full multi-tenant isolation to prevent DDoS spillover, and predictable SLAs — demonstrating improved availability, security, and massive scale enabled by Nuage Networks.
