Case Study: Takenaka achieves unified cloud management and anytime, anywhere access for documents, data and BIM with NTT Global Networks

A NTT Global Networks Case Study

Preview of the Takenaka Case Study

Takenaka - Customer Case Study

Takenaka Corporation, a major Japanese construction firm known for projects like Tokyo Tower and Abeno Harukas, faced fragmented on‑site IT systems across roughly 500 major construction sites that hindered document and BIM data sharing, mobile access, and business continuity. To address these challenges they engaged NTT Global Networks and adopted services including Arcstar Universal One, Enterprise Cloud and Nexcenter to create a consolidated cloud file‑server environment.

NTT Global Networks migrated site, main office and branch office file servers into a private cloud (backed by Nexcenter data centers, Enterprise Cloud and Arcstar Universal One), implemented WAN speed‑up and system tuning to preserve BIM response times, and built redundancy for disaster resilience. As a result, staff and partner companies can access drawings and BIM data anywhere (supporting ~7,000 mobile terminals), viewing performance matches the prior on‑premises system, operational burden has been reduced, business continuity strengthened, and migration across ~500 sites is underway over a two‑year program.
