Pitney Bowes - Customer Case Study

Pitney Bowes, a global mail and document management company with 33,000 employees, needed to extend critical U.S.-based applications (Siebel, SAP, Lotus Notes) and online training to rapidly growing Asian branches that were stuck on dial-up. To meet requirements for high availability, low latency, single-point support and U.S. dollar billing, Pitney Bowes selected NTT Global Networks to deliver a fully managed DSL-based IP VPN across Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.

NTT Global Networks deployed a multi-carrier DSL IP-VPN with best-path routing, a real-time customer portal, consolidated billing/order entry and 24x7 NOC support, giving Asian offices seamless access to corporate applications and training. The solution met stringent SLAs (e.g., <250 ms worldwide latency, 0.1% packet loss, 100% availability, .01% jitter), increased bandwidth without raising operating costs, and centralized provisioning and support so Pitney Bowes’ international locations could operate like their U.S. headquarters.
