Case Study: Hitachi achieves an integrated, secure global network and faster collaboration with NTT Global Networks

A NTT Global Networks Case Study

Preview of the Hitachi Case Study

Integrated network maximizes Hitachi’s total strengths Collaboration accelerated among 300,000 employees in 30 countries

Hitachi needed to consolidate IT infrastructure across its diverse group companies to support its Social Innovation Business — disparate regional networks, inconsistent SLAs and compromised security were slowing collaboration and creating unnecessary costs. After an RFP to more than 10 providers, Hitachi selected NTT Global Networks to deliver a globally integrated WAN, using the Arcstar Universal One service, to standardize connectivity and security across regions.

NTT Global Networks built Hitachi’s GWAN, deploying 260 circuits to connect roughly 300,000 users across six regions and formed an eight-member regional project team to manage the migration and local carriers. The unified network accelerated collaboration across 30 countries, enforced a single security policy, eliminated redundant investment conflicts, and sped integration of business systems (e.g., accounting and HR) while enabling broader rollout of unified communications.
