Filtrona Extrusion - Customer Case Study

Filtrona Extrusion, a global manufacturer of plastic products, needed to redesign its enterprise network to improve performance and ensure a fully redundant, “bulletproof” architecture with automatic failover. To meet these requirements—including the customer’s preference for GRE tunnels over conventional BGP—Filtrona Extrusion engaged NTT Global Networks to deliver a managed VPN solution (Managed Private VPN Network Service & RMM) that could support mission‑critical business processes across multiple U.S. and Mexico sites.

NTT Global Networks implemented a redundant managed VPN with GRE tunnels and OSPF between hub sites, integrated a second provider for load‑balanced Internet/voice/video traffic, and consolidated security and management under one service. The deployment was completed within six months, doubled available bandwidth, provides automatic failover within ~30 seconds, and achieves about 99.995% availability; when a Mexico circuit failed, traffic shifted with no user impact. NTT Global Networks also provides 24x7 operations and real‑time visibility, allowing Filtrona Extrusion’s IT team to focus on strategic work.
