Crown Prosecution Service streamlines 450,000 annual case reviews with NTT DATA

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) faced the challenge of reviewing over 450,000 cases annually while needing to accelerate its processes and maintain legal rigor. To address this, the CPS partnered with vendor NTT DATA to explore the use of large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to create innovative solutions for its prosecutors.

NTT DATA implemented an Intelligent Case Summarisation solution using generative AI. This was designed to speed up the CPS's administration of the justice system, reduce delays, and enable prosecutors to serve the public more effectively. The solution delivered an enhanced, user-centric case management platform to support the CPS in its ambition to transform its core business.
