Supporting management innovation through a Hybrid IT environment with VPN-connected data centers

Sapporo Group Management Ltd., the management arm of Sapporo Holdings, needed to modernize and standardize its global IT environment to break down siloed systems, reduce TCO, and support a hybrid mix of on‑premises and cloud services. The biggest challenge was redesigning a global network that would securely and economically connect dozens of domestic sites and overseas affiliates to centralized systems and multiple third‑party clouds.

Sapporo selected NTT Communications’ Global Management One and Nexcenter global data‑center network, using VPN‑connected, meshed data centers and multi‑cloud connectivity with full IT outsourcing. The rollout has already migrated networks for 170 domestic sites and Singapore, delivered a stable, redundant network, reduced server racks by 70%, lowered costs (including eliminating a backup carrier) and improved operational support and scalability for ongoing cloud and Office 365 deployments.
