Case Study: Ricoh Japan achieves lower capital investment and reduced operational workload with NTT Communications' Enterprise Cloud (Arcstar Universal One)

A NTT Communications Case Study

Preview of the Ricoh Case Study

Migration to Cloud Minimized Capital Investment While Reducing Operational Workload

Ricoh Japan, a leading office automation and IT solutions provider, faced rapidly growing demand for its IT Keeper and BB Pack hosting services, which strained capital investment, operational capacity and IT skills. Maintaining on-premise infrastructure consumed resources and impeded focus on service improvement, so the company sought a migration approach that would avoid disruption to its roughly 20,000 hosting customers.

Ricoh selected NTT Communications to migrate its customer management systems to Enterprise Cloud over the Arcstar Universal One network and to outsource infrastructure operations. The seamless migration preserved existing systems, unlocked on-demand scaling, converted fixed capital costs to variable expenses, and reduced management workload through NTT Com’s operational team and management tools—lowering TCO, enabling fee reductions, and freeing Ricoh engineers to concentrate on new services and market expansion.
