Hitachi, a global diversified technology company focused on Social Innovation, needed a more flexible, diverse and cost-effective WAN to support rapid business growth across many industries. With improving internet and cloud reliability, Hitachi sought to standardize IT services and expand internet/cloud usage while reducing networking costs and speeding up network changes, so it engaged NTT Communications to redesign its WAN.

NTT Com deployed CLOUDWAN SD‑WAN and NFV services, adding centralized management, internet breakout with cloud proxies, and logical segmentation to the global WAN. The new architecture cut provisioning times from months to hours, relieved GWAN bottlenecks, improved security through rapid segmentation and virtualized firewalls, and lowered operational and capital network costs while enabling broader cloud adoption.
