Case Study: Quickline achieves rapid cloud migration and a cost-efficient, future-proof POS with NTS Retail

A NTS Retail Case Study

Preview of the Quickline Case Study

NTS Retail successfully migrated to the Amazon Public Cloud at Quickline

Quickline, a Swiss full-service entertainment and communications provider (10 company stores plus partner outlets serving ~400,000 households), needed a reference system architecture and a centrally hosted cloud POS environment that could integrate local peripherals. To meet this challenge they worked with NTS Retail, using the NTSwincash / NTS Retail Suite as the core sales, logistics and back‑office solution and pursuing an upgrade from version 11 to X3 to enable future mobile POS capabilities.

NTS Retail migrated NTSwincash to the Amazon Public Cloud (frontend on Amazon WorkSpaces, Oracle DB on Amazon RDS, backend on EC2 with Elastic Load Balancer, and peripherals via NTS remote device service) and adapted its license model to a monthly fee per terminal. After a one‑month lead time the cutover and X3 migration completed in just four hours; Quickline now benefits from predictable monthly costs, outsourced infrastructure with reduced operational effort, a future‑proof POS platform and a solid reference architecture for similar retailers.
